Are you stealing music? The thievery sites!

By Michael Stone

In so many ways, I had hoped this era on the web had passed. On line music theft.

MichaelSliceSM Can I say this? If you are one of the thieves, you’re taking from the poor. You are NOT a modern day Robin Hood. Nope, most musicians are poor and have poured their souls, and hard earned money, into their passion. Their music.

Then here come the music criminals who think it’s ok to illegally steal the results of their enterprising souls.

Bad web surfer! Bad! (said in a stern talking to tone)

I actually had someone say to me, “You should be honored” that someone would want to download (STEAL) my music.

Gee; thanks?

So; I had a comment posted that revealed a number of other sites that allow for the illegal download of material.

Every one of these site owners and code writers and those who support them should be sued into the dark ages.

It’s difficult for me to come up with the words to describe the level of disgust with those who create these sites (and code) and then the disappointment with those who would utilize this ILLEGAL method of downloading music.

Either way, my leverage is the hope these writings, my radio shows affect some, and my sense, and belief that people really are genuinely better than this. Call me a Pollyanna, but I believe that right and good will prevail. (and Pigs can fly, right?)

These writings have seen a HUGE increase in traffic since I first published this story. I can only hope it’s not more people looking for yet another free way to rip off others.

Carpe Diem!
